School Counselor

We believe that students are proactive, high-achieving learners, and the future leaders of the world. Through participation in rigorous curriculum and appropriate activities, supported by high-quality school counseling programs, all students will have the equal opportunity to reach their fullest potential, realize their personal growth, and be well prepared to meet the challenges and high expectations of the century.

The school counselor will collaborate with teachers, administrators, school psychologists, Rainbow Room facilitators, social workers, parents, and other professionals to advocate for the equity and achievement of every student. The school counselor aims to build up a comprehensive school counseling program to promote all students’ social, emotional, and academic development as well as develop their college and career awareness.

School Counselors are an integral part of the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) team. The team will work together to ensure equitable access for all students to achieve the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). This framework also assists the school counselor in carrying out direct and indirect prevention and intervention services of various scales to Tier 1, Tier 2,  and Tier 3 students.
